Master of Arts (Education) i.e. MAED program, at School of Education, Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota is focused on the following aims:

To provide learners a broader understanding of education as a discipline,

To enable learners to understand social, psychological and philosophical bases of education,

To acquaint learners about teaching learning process,

To provide in-service teachers an opportunity to upgrade their knowledge and skills,

To acquaint learners with the cutting-edge technology in educational practices, and

To provide learners, an outline of contemporary education practices across the world. The duration of the MAED programme is of two years namely MAED (Previous) and MAED (Final).   The previous year of MAED programme consist of 04 compulsory papers each of which are of 8 credits.

MAED-01 Philosophical & Sociological Bases of Education

MAED-02 Psychological Bases of Education

MAED-03 Research Methods in Education

MAED-04 Education Technology.

Evaluation of Learners of MAED (P) has two parts one is assignment having a weightage of 20% of total score and a term-end examination after one year, having a weightage of 80%.
